Diamonds are forever!  Baseball diamonds, that is.  Here in the Nation’s Capital, baseball has a long and storied history, dating back to the late 19^th century when the very first Washington Nationals amateur team was known to have practiced on the White House grounds.  From the Homestead Grays of the famed Negro Leagues to the rebirth of the modern-day Washington Nationals Baseball Club in 2005, the game’s appeal has continued to grow through the years, with each local team leaving an indelible mark on the city.

In honor of the Nationals efforts to advance the game’s celebrated past through the development of youth baseball, the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation, the team’s charitable arm, cordially invites you to attend the Dream Gala 2012 on Saturday, June 16, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center at National Harbor.

Guests will mingle with Nationals players, coaches and other baseball luminaries during the cocktail reception and silent auction beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a dinner program emceed by Nationals broadcasters Bob Carpenter and F.P. Santangelo.  Table and partial table sponsorships include the company of a player or coach during dinner and admission to the VIP After Party at the hotel’s sizzling Pose nightclub.

The Dream Foundation is focused on improving the lives of children and families in our community while encouraging the growth of baseball.  The annual Dream Gala provides the great majority of our annual funding, and has netted more than $2.75 million in support of our three cornerstone programs.  With your help, we can ensure that baseball diamonds really are forever, bringing joy to generations of youth across the Washington area.
